General Description: Yellow-throated Warblers (Setophaga dominica) are small, sexually monomorphic songbirds. They are dark above, light below, and have a bright yellow throat and black streaks on the sides. They also have a white eyeline, black face, a white spot below the eye, and black-and-white wingbars.
Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Parulidae.
Favored Habitat: Wet areas with tall trees.
Where to Find: Don't look for Yellow-throated Warblers around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in the southeastern US during summer or in Central America during winter. |
