General: Western Dwarf Mistletoe (Arceuthobium campylopodum) is a parasitic plant that lives by taking water and nutrients from other species of plants. There are nine species of mistletoe in Nevada (perhaps eight in southern Nevada), and Western Dwarf Mistletoe specializes on Pines such as Bristlecone Pine and Ponderosa Pine.

In the genus Arceuthobium, the plant reproduces by ejecting sticky seeds from the berry. The seeds land on other branches or other trees and start a new plant.
